Last NFL regular season post here, so I'm going to end the regular season with a big winner for you! After today's Bengal's loss against the Browns, tonight's Steelers vs Ravens game becomes meaningless to the Ravens as they're now in. After a horrible Steeler's season, they'd love nothing more than to finish their season beating Baltimore! These two clubs legitimately don't like eachother and this makes the Steelers very dangerous to the Raven's tonight, who'll be playing more relaxed now they are in postseason play. ``These are two teams that have a genuine respect for one another but, probably, a genuine dislike for one another,'' Steelers coach Bill Cowher said Tuesday.
Hines Ward the Steeler's standout wide receiver was quoted as saying, ``I don't think anybody likes Baltimore, period!'' Ward also added, ``They're a confident team and they're playing well, but they don't like us for whatever reason. They talk more than most teams.'' Hines Ward isn't the only Steeler desperately wanting to end their season by beating Baltimore, as numerous Steelers still remember all the on-field talking the Ravens did during Pittsburgh's season-opening 34-15 victory, one that seemed to validate the numerous preseason predictions that the Steelers were the team to beat in the AFC North. Joey Porter the Steeler's linebacker, missed this game because of a gunshot wound, and became rather pissed with remarks made by Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis about Porter's mishap. Lewis said he merely asked about Porter's condition and didn't know why Porter got upset. This coming from one of the biggest talkers in the NFL, I'm sure Lewis added a little more! Jerome Bettis was another Steeler's star to remark the dislike between the two by saying, ``I don't like their team, they don't like us, and there's been a lot of trash talking in the past on both sides, it's one of those things where it's a rivalry, and that's what makes it a rivalry" Bettis not only verbally displayed his dislike for the Ravens, but he'd love to have a big game to move past Jim Brown into sixth place in NFL career rushing. He only needs 14 yards to do so, and once accomplished, the bus becomes fired up to roll down hill all night!
Now with all the pressure being off the Ravens in reguards of making the playoffs, which again they'll now play a lot softer after the Bengal's L, but Pittsburgh will be playing with extreme determination to beat the Ravens and stopping Jamal Lewis's charge to set the NFL record for rushing yardage in a season.
The Ravens hands down are a better team on paper than the Steelers, but we all know...the game isn't played on paper. You can throw all the stats out the window that favor the Ravens for tonight's war, as the Steelers pick up their play pulling off the upset! I rarely release ML selections, but feel very confident, despite the Steeler's bad season, they'll get up for this one to finish the season on a winning note against a hated team.
Line for this game is currently off at a lot of places, but will soon be out and Raven's will be a point or two more than a TD fav, making the ML approximately +250 for the Steelers.
Play the Steelers using the ML and let's close out the regular season in a winning fashion!
